S-260 is part of Samples, a collection of very large images (25K pixels of width, 4 meters at 200 dpi) documenting samples no more than one centimeter in width, thus blowing up the infinite complexity of reality at lower scales to an staggering level of details. The images are produced through the combined processes of microscopic imagery and photography stitching, each being composed of around 250 photographs. The samples themselves are the results of experimentations with physical and chemical reactions unfolding in mixes of banal substances such as water, salt or bleach, an exercise of microscopic painting where natural laws and time play a central role.
